MMU and Manchester University

We have close links with teacher training institutions, notably Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester. We host their trainee teachers on PGCE and School Direct placements each year and many of our staff members are graduates of these two institutions.

Webster staff mentor their trainees and contribute to teacher training sessions, particularly in Music and Art & Design where we provide our own workshops for groups of trainees and Early Career Teachers from neighbouring schools. Our pupils have the opportunity to make campus visits and we are regular visitors to programmes at the University of Manchester's Whitworth Art Gallery and Manchester Museum.
The University's International Society also make an annual visit to Webster to provide their global learning Rocket World/One Love workshops.

MMU support our Year 3 lunchtime pupil mentoring scheme in collaboration with Loreto Sixth Form College students.
This year we have participated in the incredible Children Without Limits programme at MMU's Birley Fields site, through which 50 of our Year 3 and 4 pupils visit for Saturday morning booster classes.
